Private tutor in Arlington, TX
Education
Linguistics Grad in the Liberal Arts Honors College at The University of Texas at Austin--GPA 3.7. I minored in the Korean Language as well as French Language. I started learning French when I was about 5 years old, and I started self-teaching Korean when I was 15. My ambitious and driven nature has always opened up new doors for me, and I would love to show others how knowledge is truly the stepping stone to success.
Experience
I have tutored since I was only in middle school, and I still currently tutor a senior in high school (I have been tutoring him since he was only in middle school!) I was always requested by teachers and professors alike to help out others who were struggling with course material with which I had no trouble. I took the SAT only once, and I got 2000 on my very first attempt. I've also taken all AP tests offered to me, scoring a perfect score on AP Calculus and AP Literature/AP Language. My AP score for French also tested me out of any languages I would have had to take at UT (although, I love language so much, I took them anyway!). I want to be a tutor because there is no greater feeling than knowing that you have really helped someone else. In today's fast-paced society, poor grades and test scores can really contribute to a skewed view of oneself. I like showing these students who have nearly given up hope that their grades can improve, because most of the time, a struggling student just has a different learning style, some of which teachers completely skip over. I like working with students to find out HOW they learn is the best way to improve their grades all around. I have taken extensive courses in Math, Language, and French. My French is impeccable, and I understand the language very well, so it is easy for me to teach.

Hobbies
I really love animals! I have two weenie dogs named Jelly Bean and Gwennie. I'm also a jokester--I really enjoy making people laugh because I think it helps lower stress levels, which can also contribute to poor grades. I can easily fit in to any environment, be it talking about cool new video games, or dishing about current celebrity news, or even just sitting and discussing relevant academic studies. I am very open to trials as well to see if I would be a good fit for your student because 9 times out of 10, I am.
