I now have over 13 years of experience as a teacher.I see my role as a teacher as more than just an instructor of the subject at hand. I want my students to become self-motivated, learn how to cope with academic challenges on their own, and feel a sense of control over their own lives. I see myself as a facilitator and guide. I ascertain what students already know, and help them connect that knowledge to new subject matter. I try to help them realize that their personal ideas, opinions, comments, and voices have value and should be supported.
