Experience
I love helping others to learn. I love to see the lightbulb click on over their hands as they come to understand something new. My background in communication studies has given me strong skills in writing composition and rhetorical analysis, which come in quite handy in English classes, or any class in which something needs to be written. My coursework in history, philosophy, and theology allows me to be of aid in these subjects as well. As to experience, I have given religious/theological instruction to both junior high and graduate students, so I have experience in explaining complex subject matter to people at various age levels. I have tutored adults in basic math and reading skills at the South Bend Center for the Homeless (South Bend, IN). As an undergraduate, I was employed as a speech assistant, tutoring other students in writing and delivering speeches and presentations for classes.
