Experience
First, I have worked for a local tutoring company called The Teaching Company for 3 years. During this time, I had a high percentage of student success helping them succeed from C's to B's and A's. Further, I helped students take high school prep. Spanish exams from local universities such as Texas Tech and UT Austin. Second, I have 16 years of teaching Spanish from elementary to college level (AP) and IB courses. During these years, I have learned and applied best practices in language acquisition from known authorities as Blaine Ray and Greg Duncan. These techniques helped increase the students' Spanish acquisition so that they can internalize their learning and be lifelong learners. I have also learned to use differentiated learning styles/techniques to tailor instruction to each individual students' needs. This is a very big and current topic in the educational system at this time. Further, in addition to all the formal training and undergraduate degree I have earned, I am a native speaker from Penjamo, Guanjuato, Mexico. I was raised in Salinas California since I was four years old. Thus, I don't have a heavy accent in Spanish, and can provide high quality Spanish instruction and guidance and having a bachelors and a Masters degree to back it up as well. One of the major reasons I want to become a tutor is so that I may help those students who are struggling and seek quality help at affordable prices. I have seen too many students who get discouraged and give up on learning Spanish. I want to make Spanish learning a smooth transition so that the students will be able to learn on their own, have fun and be lifelong learners.

Hobbies
I like to spend time with my family when not working. I have been married for 20 years. I have two sons. My oldest is a Sophomore at a Texas College and my youngest is a freshman at a local high school. My youngest has mild autism. It has been rough, but we have managed to help and nurture him to where he has overcome several obstacles and has increase in learning.
