Experience
I have a bachelor's degree in philosophy from the University of Wisconsin. I started my college experience studying computer engineering, but decided on a career that focused more on people, not on machines. I went to law school at Texas A&M, during which I continued to tutor students in physics and math, eventually shifting focus to help mentor students in critical analysis and writing. I enjoy teaching writing and composition, especially as a component of test preparation. I also focus on AP tests as well. I also continue to tutor in many areas of math, such as trigonometry, algebra, pre-calculus, and statistics, as well as many areas of science, including physics, biology, and chemistry. Many students do not feel they have the ability to achieve at these difficult subjects, and they tend to put up mental and emotional blocks that prevent them from succeeding, but my aim is to help them overcome that. My goal is that we even try to have some fun with these subjects. Once the mental blocks are down, and the student is at ease, then the real learning can begin. In my personal time, I enjoy spending time with my daughter, walking, camping, painting, chess, and reading.
