Experience
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business and Interpersonal Communications from Ohio University. After working in business for over a decade, I went back to school at the University of Phoenix in Dallas to earn my master's degree.Though I have experience in tutoring students from 4th graders to college students, I most enjoy tutoring students in grades 7-12. I can tutor students in reading, editing, grammar and mechanics, geography, economics, finance, macroeconomics, algebra, business, and social studies. However, my favorite subjects to tutor are math, United States history, geometry, English, public speaking, science, writing, and standardized test preparation for the STAAR, TAKS, and GED. My method of tutoring is simple: I take the subject that my student is struggling with and I make it fun to understand. When a student is anxious or frustrated, this hinders learning. I enjoy being a teacher who helps students overcome their academic roadblocks. I use many different teaching techniques, and I tailor a unique tutoring plan for each of my students. When I'm not tutoring, I enjoy watching sports, traveling, running, and spending time with my family.
